These terms cover this website (https://roomailo.com) and the Roomailo mobile app. By creating an account or using either, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Roomailo.
Eligibility
Roomailo is built for adult housemates. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the app. By creating an account, you're confirming that you meet this requirement and that the information you give us is accurate.
Your account
You're responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login details, including any password, secure. Tell us at [email protected] if you think your account has been accessed without your permission. Each account is for one person; you shouldn't share your login with anyone else.
Households and shared data
Joining a household, by invite code and an admin's approval, means the expenses, chores, groceries, and notices you add become visible to every other active member of that household. Leaving, being removed, or being blocked from a household doesn't erase the household's shared history; your identity on past records is replaced with a generic label, as described in our privacy policy. An owner or admin of a household can remove or block a member at their discretion.
Content you add
You keep ownership of the photos, notes, and other content you add to the app. By adding it, you give us permission to store it and display it to your household, which is what the app is for. You confirm you have the right to share whatever you upload, and that it doesn't belong to, or identify, anyone who hasn't agreed to it being there.
Acceptable use
Use Roomailo the way it's meant to be used: to manage expenses, chores, groceries, and notices with people you actually share a home with. Don't use it to harass or impersonate anyone, upload content you don't have the right to share, try to break into accounts or systems that aren't yours, or interfere with the service for other households.
Settling up
Roomailo doesn't process, hold, or move money between users. Recording a settle-up in the app only logs that a payment happened; the actual payment happens separately, on whatever rail your household uses (bank transfer, cash, or similar). We're not a party to that payment and aren't responsible for it being made, refunded, or disputed.
The service, and changes to it
Core features are free today, and we intend to keep the basics free. We may add, change, or remove features over time, and we'll try to give notice inside the app before any change that meaningfully affects how you use it. We can't guarantee the service will always be available without interruption.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings in the app, subject to the same-household balance requirements described in our privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, with notice where that's practical.
No warranty
Roomailo is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don't warrant that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of loss.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Roomailo and anyone involved in building or running it won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for disputes between housemates, lost data, or amounts one household member owes another. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you've paid us for the service in the past twelve months, which for the free features is zero.
Your responsibility to others
You're responsible for the content you add and how you use the app. If your use of Roomailo, or content you add, causes a claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result from it, except where that claim was caused by something we did wrong.
Machine-readable content
The /ai.json endpoint and /llms.txt file are provided so AI assistants can answer questions about Roomailo accurately. You may fetch and quote them with attribution; please don't represent their content as an official statement beyond what's written.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. If a change is significant, we'll update the date above and let you know inside the app. Continuing to use Roomailo after a change means you accept the updated terms.

If something in these terms feels unfair or you disagree with how we've handled something, email [email protected] first. We'd rather sort it out directly with you than have it become a bigger problem for either of us.
